Tom Preststulen, Chairman
Mr. Preststulen (58) has been a director of Guinor since its incorporation and of Kenor since 1986. He holds an MBA from North European Management Institute and was previously Managing Director of the Torvald Klaveness Group, Manager of Aluminium Pechiney, France and a Divisional Director of Elkem ASA. He currently holds the position in Elkem ASA of Corporate Governor Asia. Mr. Preststulen resides in Shanghai, China.
Gordon William Thompson, Vice Chairman
Mr. Thompson (63) has been a director ofGuinor since its incorporation and of Kenor since June 2002. He holds an Honorary Professional Degree in Mining Engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology. Mr. Thompson has broad experience in all phases of mining activities and management of Canadian and US listed mining companies. He was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Getchell Gold Corporation of Denver Colorado, until it was sold to Placer Dome in 1999 and he was a director of Placer Dome from 1999 to 2000, and Chairman of Apollo Gold Corporation from 2002 to 2005. Mr. Thompson resides in Seattle, USA.
Trevor S. Schultz, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr Schultz has been a director of Guinor since its incorporation and of Kenor since April 2003, and has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company since January 1, 2004. From 1996, Mr. Schultz was the Chief Operating Officer and an Executive Director of Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, which operates a number of mines in Africa, including the Siguiri mine in Guinea. Mr. Schultz has also held management and executive positions with a number of other companies, including Pegasus Gold Corporation, Aurtex Inc., and the Broken Hill Proprietary Company Limited. He holds a Master of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and a Master of Arts in Economics from Trinity College at the University of Cambridge. Mr. Schultz is an Australian citizen.
Jay Kellerman
Mr. Kellerman (42) has been a director of Guinor since its incorporation and of Kenor since April 2003. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Laws from the University of Windsor (Canada). Mr. Kellerman is a partner with the Canadian law firm Stikeman Elliott LLP and has been a partner since 1997. From 1994 to 1997 he was a partner with another major Canadian lawfirm. Mr. Kellerman has advised numerous Canadian and foreign companies involved in the mining sector on a wide range of matters, including public offerings and mergers and acquisitions. He is also a director of Anatolia Minerals Development Limited, which is listed on the TSX. Mr. Kellerman resides in Toronto, Canada.
Andrew Adams
Andrew Adams has over 20 years of financial and management experience in the resources industry. He qualified as an accountant in the United Kingdom in 1981 and since then has worked in progressively more senior financial and executive roles in the resources industry. He worked for the Anglo American group of companies for 12 years up to 1999. He joined Aber Diamond Corporation as their Vice President and CFO through to 2003. In 2004 he joined Tahera Diamond Corporation, Jaguar Nickel and Guinor as a non-executive member of their Boards of Directors as well as Chairman of their Audit Committees. Mr Adams resides in Oakville, Ontario.
Edward Reeve
Edward Reeve (61) has been a director of Guinor since August 2004. He has a background of nearly 20 years as a gold mining analyst with a number of investment dealers, most recently with Scotia Capital. He is well known for his authoritative and detailed global reviews of gold producer hedging trends which put him at the forefront of that particular field. In 2002, he founded Haliburton Mineral Services Inc. in Toronto where he continues to act as an independent researcher and consultant. Mr. Reeve holds a B.Sc, M.Sc and a PhD in Geology as well as an MBA.
John Barker, Vice President Strategic Development
Mr. Barker joined Kenor in January 2004 and subsequently Guinor, and is responsible for their corporate and strategic development. After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Mineral Estates Management at Sheffield City University, he spent five years in South Africa, initially in the operations, followed by a more strategic development role with GFSA in Johannesburg. Subsequently he has had ten years experience as a mining equity analyst in London, the last seven with The Royal Bank of Canada where he assumed the role of director. As an analyst he was involved in research, global marketing and various due diligence roles. He joined Kenor after having spent time as Vice-President of Corporate Development and Compliance at Southern Era, a Canadian mining company. Mr. Barker resides in United Kingdom.
Gary Townsend, Chief Financial Officer
Gary Townsend joined Guinor in June 2004. He was previously employed by Ashanti Goldfields where he held the position of Group Financial Controller for 7 years. He was responsible for setting up the group financial reporting systems following major acquisitions by Ashanti in 1996 and ensuring compliance with all financial regulatory requirements including filings of the 20-F with the SEC. He was also responsible for taxation matters across the group including the development and implementation of strategies to minimize taxes payable. He was part of the team that led Ashanti out of the liquidity crisis in 1999. Prior to Ashanti, Mr Townsend worked for a number of major international companies in the engineering, food and travel industries in the UK.
Marius Bretteville, Investor Relations Officer
Mr Bretteville joined Kenor in January 2002 and subsequently Guinor, and is responsible for Guinor’s investor relations, marketing and information strategy and he is also involved in the group’s business development and financing. He holds a BA (Hons) Degree in business from the University of Stirling, UK. He joined Kenor from the position of channel manager at EMC Computer Systems AS. Mr. Bretteville resides in Norway.
Andrew Pardey, Chief Geologist
Andrew Pardey joined Guinor on June 1, 2004 as Chief Gologist responsible for all exploration and prospecting activities. Before joining Guinor, Mr. Pardey was in charge of the exploration and geology activities as well as resource and reserve reporting at the Siguiri Gold Mine operated by AngloGold Ashanti, where he was employed as Geology Manager since October 2000. He was responsible for the positive record of finding and replacing the resources and reserves every year at the Siguiri Gold Mine, which was an integral step in the decision to install a CIL plant at Siguiri. Mr Pardey has intimate knowledge of the local geology through his 4 years at the Siguiri Gold Mine which is situated only 60 km from the Lero Gold Project. He has also held the position of Chief Geologist at Son’s of Gwalia Red October operation in Australia. He holds a BSc Degree in Geology from Macquarie University in Australia. Mr Pardey resides in Guinea.
Peter Connery, General Manager, SMD
Mr Connery is the General Manager of SMD,Guinor’s production company. He previously worked as a consultant for several major international companies in both Africa and the Middle East, in such areas as risk analysis and health, safety and environmental policy. Mr Connery was previously in the UK armed forces. Mr. Connery is a British citizen and resides in Guinea.
Joep Coenen, Chief of Operations, SMD
Mr Coenen is responsible for SMD’s mining operations. He has more than 20 years of experience in mine planning and operation, mainly from Australia. He holds an MSc in mining engineering from the University of Delft, Netherlands, and an MBA from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Coenen is an Australian citizen and resides in Guinea.
El Hadj Bakary Kourouma, Director Conakry, SMD
Mr Kourouma is responsible for SMD’s contacts with the national authorities in Guinea. He joined SMD from the Ministry of Mining in Guinea, where he was responsible for the diamond department. Mr. Kourouma also had coordinating responsibility from the Ministry’s side in planning for the Lero mine. He holds qualifications in geology from the University of Guinea and from INPL, France. He resides in Guinea and is a Guinean citizen.
